2 x Gold bei der Kyudo-EM in Stockholm

Aus deutscher Sicht sind die Ergebnisse der Europameisterschaften, die am 24. und 25. Mai in der schwedischen Hauptstadt ausgetragen wurden, überaus erfreulich. Beim Mannschaftswettbewerb am Samstag (24.5.) traten 15 Mannschaften aus 8 europäischen Verbänden an. Die Mannschaft Deutschland 1 mit Boris Proppe, Thomas Müller, Rolf Brüning und Johannes Maringer (Kyudoverein-Neandertal) sicherte sich souverän den Titel. Den zweiten Platz belegten die Schützen aus Frankreich. Um den dritten Platz kam es zu einem Stechen zwischen Deutschland 2 und der Auswahl des Gastgeberlandes, den die deutschen Kyudoka für sich entscheiden konnten.

Am Sonntag folgte der Wettbewerb im Einzel, bei dem die deutschen Teilnehmer die gute Form vom Vortag bewahren konnten. Nach dem ersten Durchgang gingen sieben Schützen mit gleicher Trefferzahl ins Stechen, fünf davon aus Deutschland, ein Franzose und ein Schwede, so dass die Vergabe der Plätze auf dem Treppchen zu einer nationalen Angelegenheit wurde. Platz zwei und drei gingen an Michael Brettschneider aus Frankfurt und Boris Proppe aus Berlin.
Den Titel errang Johannes Maringer vom Kyudoverein Neandertal e.V.
