On May 25, 2019, Japan Day—an event popular even beyond the borders of North Rhine-Westphalia—took place once again in Düsseldorf. Under glorious sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures, we—the Kyudoverein Neandertal e.V.—took our usual spot on the large lawn in front of the state parliament building, just as we did last year.

Thanks to the energetic support of all our volunteers, we were ready to go by noon and were already welcoming our first interested spectators.

Compared to previous years, this year we shared the space in front of the state parliament building with members of the Hakushinkai Düsseldorf e.V. club and the Takeda Düsseldorf e.V. Samurai Group. This allowed us to present alternating demonstrations on the makiwara and with the sword to the spectators. Each member was also happy to answer questions from anyone interested.
